Condition of the Month: Constipation
For those of you that have been to class this may be old news but it is worth revisiting. How many parents, grandparents and patients know of family members or friends that have children with chronic constipation?
Chiropractic can and does help constipation; and we can prove it! We have x-ray’s which show the change taking place 10 minutes after an Atlas Orthogonal adjustment.
Pre- AO Post AO
11-year-old Johnny came into the office with chronic constipation. We adjusted his atlas and took a re-Xray of Johnny. You could see his body beginning to do what it was “Created” to do. This was to be healthy!
He started to have a bowel movement and we caught it on film! Now this may not seem like a big deal to most of us but for Johnny it was.
Johnny had been taking suppositories for the last 2 years (since age 9) and by the look of his first x-ray they were not working. Johnny had an average of 4 bowel movements a month for the last several years. Johnny had his first “B.M.” 15 minutes north of town on his way back to Houghton Michigan that night. He had 3 more before they got home.
His mom later told me their insurance company had spent almost $12,000.00 on 2 days of testing at Marshfield clinic and all they learned was Johnny needed stronger suppositories!
Johnny’s Atlas needed to be adjusted! He was NOT suppository deficient. His bill with us was a tiny fraction of what the insurance companies paid for something that was not working, but refused to pay for something that DID WORK.
