FullScript We want patients to know there is an easier way to keep up on your supplements. FullScript is an application that allows the doctor to create a file for you with all of your favorite supplements. You can access this file and order anytime you want (in your pj’s ) and have supplements delivered to you. This allows us to help you obtain the best supplements out there that are doctor prescribed and we don’t have to stock products that we don’t sell as much and expire. This helps everyone save money. All we need is your name as a patient and your email address. Please let your doctor know if you are interested in using this service.
What did our great-great-great grandparents eat? By Joseph Mercola, D.O.
This is one example of how our ancestors ate 2-3 generations ago. It was seasonal and regional. And obviously they didn’t run to the “grocery store” for their sustenance. Food was basic and not wasted. They made the most of what they had at that time of year. It also was NOT low fat, low carb – it was fuel for harder living conditions. They may have had shorter lifespans but that was more due to poorer hygiene and harsher living conditions. Most diseases are eradicated by improved hygiene and nutrition – not vaccines and medicine. This has been proven over time and documented in many good books such as “Vaxxed vs. Unvaxxed” and “Turtles All the Way Down”. We have many good books in our lending library to help you sort out the information. Ask at the front desk! You can also go to websites such as The Weston Price Foundation, Children’s Health Defense, National Vaccine Information Center, and World Council For Health.
Condition of the Month Slips and Falls The season is upon us, here in the Northwoods. No, it is not road construction season (the other season) it is winter! Snow and snow-covered ice are a serious hazard. Most of our patient’s injuries occur due to slips and falls in the first few snowfalls. How can these accidents be avoided and what should we do if they occur? First, just like the accidents that occur while driving after those first few snowfalls we need to re-train ourselves to slow down and look closely at the surface we are walking on. Do as I say, not as I did: December 2nd, 2009, I was in Minocqua getting out of my truck to have breakfast and hurriedly jumped out and nearly fell flat on my back side. I did not take the time to assess my surroundings prior to stepping out of the truck. Dr. Baker fell on black ice last winter and acquired a severe whiplash injury. Take the time to be cautious these first few snowfalls to get back into the habit of slowing down and looking at the surface we are walking on until it becomes something we do instinctively. Be proactive, not reactive, with the new conditions. If necessary, get a set of ice cleats which can easily be taken on and off as needed. Secondly, get ice on any sore area for 15 minutes as soon as possible and call for a chiropractic appointment right away. Dr. Baker and Dr. Borski can minimize the effects of the fall if they are able to correct these new misalignments sooner rather than later. Do not use these 5 words “maybe it will go away”. The sooner the doctors get to work on this new issue the less damage to your health this injury can cause. Do not put your health on the back burner. Let chiropractic stop dis-ease in its tracks! Remember: any time you have a slip or fall tell the staff member helping schedule your appointment so the office can allow enough time to assess possible new injuries! Please help us to help you! We ask that you arrive about 10 minutes before your actual appointment time to allow for: heavy traffic/construction/weather, waiting for the kiosk tablet and a bathroom stop. If you are late, we will attempt to work you back into the schedule as quickly as possible. However, we need to also prioritize patients who arrived for their scheduled time. Please bear with us! If you arrive and do not enter all the information for your visit on the kiosk or notify the doctor of a notable change in your condition due to an injury, fall or illness we may have to reschedule all or part of your appointment. Please understand for you to receive appropriate care, the doctor must fulfill due diligence and that may require a re-examination and/or films. This is for safety and is determined by the doctor. The best way to avoid unnecessary waiting or rescheduling is to let us know ahead of your appointment time. Thank you!! RECIPE OF THE MONTH Comforting Beef Barley Soup TOTAL TIME: Prep: 10 min.
